THE YARN CARRIER
The first issue of The Yarn Carrier, the news magazine of Wyomissing Industries, was published in April 1931. Its four pages covered a wide range of topics, including:
- The recent move of the Dye House to new quarters in Building 105;
- A shorter school schedule for apprentices due to the increase in high school graduates in the program;
- $400 cash awards to Textile Foundry employees who finished their training programs;
- The original employee hired by Thun and Janssen who was still on the job 39 years later;
- The worldwide popularity of Narrow Fabric products made in Wyomissing and shipped to markets in such countries as Cuba, Holland, Japan, and Australia.
